Chicken korma is a popular Indian meal that comes in a variety of flavors. They all have one thing in common, though: they’re all delicious, and we want them immediately! This delectable Indian chicken meal is made keto-friendly by cooking it in a thick onion sauce with a variety of spices.
Ingredients
- 750 Grams Chicken
- 1 Onion Large Size – Finely Chopped
- 2 Tomatoes Medium Size – Pureed
- 1 Tablespoon Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1/2 Tablespoon Salt or as per taste
- 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Coriander Powder
- 3 whole cloves
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 star anise
- 3 green cardamom pods
- 1/4 Teaspoon kashmiri Red Chili Powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon Cumin Powder
- 1/4 Teaspoon Garam Masala Powder Optional
- 1/2 cup Coconut Milk
- 1/2 curd, beaten
- 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
- fresh cilantro, for garnish
Instructions
- In a wok or nonstick skillet, heat the ghee and cook the onion over low to medium heat until golden & translucent.
- Remove the golden onions from the pan and set them aside. In a blender, combine the yogurt and onion to make a creamy paste.
- In a pan, melt the ghee. In a pea pod, combine the cloves, bay leaf, cinnamon stick, star anise, green cardamom pods, and black pepper. 30 seconds in the oven, or until they start to sizzle.
- Place the chicken drumsticks on top. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and cook for approximately 2 minutes.
- Turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and cumin powder should all be added at this point.
- Add puréed tomato now and sauté again. Add 1/3 cup of water and cover pan with the lid. Cook for another 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Mix in the yogurt paste and fried onions well. Toss in a few drops of water. Mix thoroughly.
- After 10 minute add coconut milk to it and let it boil for another 2-3 minutes, covered in the pan.
- Fresh coriander should be sprinkled on top.
